# Calibration Workflows

The calibration workflow pages explain when to use each calibration tool and what to consider during setup, capture, solving, and validation.

The general Calibration Object setup, Capture Window, capture process, and output handling are explained in the **Using the Calibration Object** section.

These pages focus on workflow-specific best practices, requirements, outputs, and common mistakes.

## Workflow Categories

### Full Camera and Lens Calibration

Use these workflows when the lens, camera tracking, or complete camera system needs to be calibrated.

* **Lens & Tracking Calibration**
* **Lens & Tracking Calibration (Rotation Only)**
* **Lens Calibration**
* **Axis-Pole Calibration**

### Alignment Workflows

Use these workflows when an existing Lens Profile should be aligned to tracking, Measurement Points, or existing references.

* **Tracking Alignment**
* **Alignment with Markers**

### Static Camera Workflows

Use these workflows when the camera does not move or when calibration values should be written directly to a Camera Object.

* **Simple Static Calibration**
* **Simple Static Calibration with Marker**

## How to Use These Pages

Each workflow page explains:

* when to use the workflow
* when not to use it
* what the workflow solves
* required setup
* important Calibration Object settings
* capture strategy
* outputs
* best practices
* common mistakes

The workflow pages do not repeat every general UI step. For detailed Calibration Object usage, see **Using the Calibration Object**.

## Workflow Overview

| Workflow                                        | Main Purpose                                                                                     |
| ----------------------------------------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ |
| **Lens & Tracking Calibration** | Creates a Lens Profile and Alignment Profile for a fully tracked moving camera. |
| **Lens & Tracking Calibration (Rotation Only)** | Creates a Lens Profile and Alignment Profile for rotation-only or pan/tilt camera systems. |
| **Lens Calibration** | Creates a Lens Profile using zoom and focus encoder data, without solving tracking alignment. |
| **Tracking Alignment** | Creates or updates an Alignment Profile using an existing Lens Profile. |
| **Alignment with Markers** | Creates or updates an Alignment Profile using Measurement Points instead of Calibration Screens. |
| **Axis-Pole Calibration** | Calibrates an Axis 2D movement system and can create Lens and Alignment Profiles. |
| **Simple Static Calibration** | Calibrates a static Camera Object using Calibration Screens. |
| **Simple Static Calibration with Marker** | Calibrates a static Camera Object using Measurement Points. |
