# Pages

Pages organize the buttons, encoders, and touch strips of a Controller into separate sets.

## Why Use Pages

A control surface has a limited number of physical or on-screen controls. Pages allow one Controller to cover many tasks by grouping controls by function, for example:

* One page for lighting
* One page for cameras
* One page for media playback
* One page for system utilities

Each page holds its own set of buttons. The same button position can look and behave differently on each page because every button has its own settings.

## Managing Pages

Pages are managed with the **Page management** button at the top right of the Controller Editor. Its menu starts with a list of all the pages of the current Controller, followed by the options to create, rename, and delete a page.

| Action        | How                                                                   |
| ------------- | --------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Switch page   | Open **Page management** and choose the page from the list at the top |
| Create a page | Open **Page management** and select **Create New Page**               |
| Rename a page | Open **Page management** and select **Rename Page**                   |
| Delete a page | Open **Page management** and select **Delete Page**                   |

It forces the Controller to load the page that is currently shown in the editor.

Rename pages as soon as a project has more than one. Names such as *Lighting* or *Camera 1* are much easier to manage than *Page 3*.
