# Region Layer

Divide a Timeline into clearly labeled and color-coded regions to visually organize major sections and improve orientation.

The **Region Layer** is used to visually divide a Timeline into clearly labeled sections.

Regions can be used to highlight the structure of a sequence, show major sections of a show, or make important parts of the Timeline easier to identify at a glance.

For example, a Timeline could be divided into regions such as:

* Intro
* Opening
* First Section
* Break
* Outro

Regions are intentionally compact and are designed primarily as visual orientation markers rather than functional Timeline elements.

## Regions

Each Region represents a labeled time range on the Timeline.

The Region name is displayed directly inside the Item, making the overall structure of the Timeline visible without requiring additional details or controls.

Different colors can be used to make individual sections easier to distinguish.

The position and duration of a Region are defined by its Timeline Item.

For general information about moving, resizing, renaming, coloring, or deleting Timeline Items, see **Working with Layer Items**.
