## Timeline Controls

Selecting the Timeline object shows its controls and settings in the **Inspector**.

The Timeline can also be selected directly from the Timeline View using the Timeline button next to the current time display.

The Inspector provides direct controls for:

* **Play**
* **Stop**
* **Pause**
* **TogglePlay**
* **Record**
* **Stop Recording**
* **Toggle Recording**

These controls operate the same Timeline functions as the corresponding controls in the Timeline View.

***

## Playback

### Play

**Play** starts Timeline playback from the current Playhead position.

If the Timeline was paused, playback continues from the position where it was paused.

### Pause

**Pause** stops playback at the current position without resetting the Timeline.

Starting playback again continues from the same position.

### Stop

**Stop** stops playback and resets the Playhead to the configured **Start Time**.

### Moving the Playhead During Playback

While a Timeline is playing, the Playhead can be moved to another position.

Playback then continues immediately from the new position.

***

## Play at Load

Enable **Play at Load** to automatically start the Timeline when the project is loaded.

***

## Current Time

**Current Time** represents the current Playhead position.

The value updates as the Timeline plays or when the Playhead is moved.

It can also be edited directly in the Inspector to move the Timeline to a specific time.

***

## Playback Range

### Start Time

**Start Time** defines the beginning of the Timeline playback range.

The Start Time does not have to be `00:00:00.000`.

### End Time

**End Time** defines the end of the Timeline playback range.

When playback reaches the End Time, the Timeline remains at that position unless **Loop** is enabled.

***

## Play Speed

**Play Speed** controls the playback speed of the Timeline.

For example:

* `1.0` — normal speed
* `0.5` — half speed
* `2.0` — double speed

***

## Loop

When **Loop** is disabled, the Timeline remains at the **End Time** after reaching the end of its playback range.

When **Loop** is enabled, reaching the End Time causes the Timeline to jump back to the **Start Time** and continue playing.

***

## Cue Navigation

The Timeline Inspector provides two direct Cue navigation actions:

* **Prev Cue**
* **Next Cue**

**Prev Cue** moves the Playhead to the previous Cue.

**Next Cue** moves the Playhead to the next Cue.

These actions only move the Playhead to the Cue position. The function of the destination Cue itself is not executed.

For more information about Cues, see **Timeline Cues**.

***

## View Range

The Inspector exposes the current visible Timeline range through:

* **View start time**
* **View end time**

These values correspond directly to the **View Range** shown in the Timeline View.

Changing the View Range only affects the visible section of the Timeline. It does not change the Timeline's Start Time or End Time.

For details about navigating and adjusting the visible range, see **Timeline View**.
