# Overview

Drive a TouchDesigner camera with live tracking and lens data from Grid Studio, including field of view, center shift, distortion, and overscan.

## Camera Tracking

Camera tracking connects a camera in Grid Studio to a virtual camera in TouchDesigner.

The incoming position and rotation control the virtual camera's viewpoint. Lens data controls its field of view, center shift, and distortion, allowing your rendered scene to follow the camera configuration in Grid Studio.

### How it works

The camera workflow consists of three parts:

| Component            | Purpose                                                              |
| -------------------- | -------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| SPNet Camera CHOP | Receives the selected camera's tracking and lens data. |
| Camera Rig | Creates and connects the TouchDesigner camera and rendering setup. |
| SPNet Distortion TOP | Applies lens distortion and overscan cropping to the rendered image. |

The SPNet Camera CHOP receives data over the network and selects a camera by its ID.

Its camera rig uses that data to control a Camera COMP and render the geometry you select. The rendered image then passes through the native distortion TOP before reaching the final output.

### What you can control

* Camera position and rotation.
* Horizontal field of view.
* Lens center shift.
* Radial lens distortion.
* Overscan.
* Final output resolution.

The rig lets you choose which incoming properties to use. Position, rotation, and field of view can also be set manually, making it possible to test parts of the setup independently.

### Previewing the result

The camera rig provides a preview of the final rendered image through its `out1` TOP.

Lens distortion is applied to this rendered image. The Camera COMP's 3D viewer shows the camera perspective before the distortion stage.

An optional debug mode adds a floor grid with one-meter spacing and world axes to help compare the camera and lens behavior with Grid Studio.

### Before you start

You need:

* The SPNet plugins installed in TouchDesigner.
* A standard camera in Grid Studio configured for SPNet output.
* The camera's ID.
* Matching SPNet network settings in Grid Studio and TouchDesigner.

This workflow uses the standard SPNet camera.
