Re-imaging the OS

To install a new image on the Grid Engine you need:

• USB-Stick with a capacity of min. 16GB

• Computer with Internet access

Download the latest ISO

Within the download section from our website download the latest ISO or contact [e-mail] to receive a download link.

ISO to "bootable" USB installer

A third party software is needed to create from an existing ISO file a "bootable" Windows installer.

We recommend to download and install rufus for this.

There are a lot other great tools to create bootable USB sticks. We unfortunately can only show one solution here.

Choose USB device

Choose carefully your USB stick. The chosen device will be formatted !!

Select ISO

Select here the downloadet Grid Engine ISO file.

Start

Double check all settings and click on START

Post Settings

Make sure everything is unchecked. The ISO is already optimized for the hardware and should not be modified from here.

Copying ISO files

Install the OS

1. Shutting down the server

2. Attach the USB stick to it

3. Restart

4. Wait until you see the following on your screen:

Boot Menu

1. Press the F11 key to access the boot menu

2. Select USB stick and press ENTER

Please note that the name of the USB-Stick will be different to this screenshot. The USB-Stick should be the second option. UEFI: {STICKNAME}

Select hard drive

Select the disk partition 3 (Windows) and click on "Next"

Automated install procedure

The installing process will now take a while and the pc will restart several times.

There is no need for any kind of interaction. Just wait until the installation is done.

Then the PC will reboot

After the first reboot the screen will look like this

Then the PC will reboot another time

External installers are now running automatically

Final windows preparations

The automatic installation is still running

Please wait until all "Post-Setup" steps are done

First the NVIDIA drivers will be installed and the PC will reboot again

The final steps can take a few more minutes
