Grid Touch Devices

Grid Touch devices are dedicated touch panel hardware designed for wall-mounted installations and permanent control interfaces. They are ideal for environments where a fixed control surface is required, such as control rooms, installations, or show control setups.

The operating system on Grid Touch devices is optimized specifically for running the Grid Viewer. The application starts automatically when the device boots, and the system is configured so that the interface cannot be accidentally exited. This creates a kiosk-style environment, similar to Guided Access on iOS, where the user is restricted to a single application. As a result, the device always remains on the intended control interface without requiring additional configuration or maintenance.

Grid Touch devices are also powered via Power over Ethernet (PoE), allowing both power and network connectivity through a single cable, which simplifies installation in fixed setups.

In the Grid Studio Project Tree, dedicated objects are available for each Grid Touch model:

These objects function similarly to the Grid Viewer object but are preconfigured with the correct screen resolution and device settings for the respective hardware model.

Because the display resolution is already defined, the interface frames created in the Artboard can directly match the target device without additional configuration.

Aside from these predefined settings, the workflow for configuring and connecting Grid Touch devices is identical to the Grid Viewer setup described earlier.
