License

Grid Studio comes with a new licensing structure that is not compatible with the license structure for SP v1. Licenses from SP v1 cannot be directly transferred over to Grid Studio.

Grid Studio

  • Free of charge

    • You do not need a license to open up Grid Studio and start playing around with the software

  • freeze all IO and all GUI elements every 5-15 mins for a couple of seconds

    • There will be a notification that shows you when this restriction is happening

  • can only be left running for up to 4 hours

  • free 1 x OSC endpoint

  • As you are adding different objects and tools into your project, Grid Studio will let you know how much credits are being used currently

    • When you do not have enough credits to run your project

    • When you have enough credits

  • Clicking on the credit icon will show you the breakdown of exactly which object and how much credits it requires

Grid Player

  • for playback of project files with NO editor GUI

  • only display board interface

  • requires the same amount of credits to run the project as if the same project is running on SP Studio

Grid Wallet

  • This is the license that act as a container for your credits.

  • Different objects, IO, tools will cost different amount of credits.

  • Add-on features like Light Tracking, VP features, etc will also cost different amount of credits.

  • If there is enough credits, the opened project will be unlocked

  • Each license can have a duration period of either 12 or 3 months.

  • For the license with a 12 month duration, it is possible to add additional credits to it before the license expires. Depending on how many quarters are left to the expiry date, the cost of credits will be charge proportionally.

  • Max 2 wallets can be stacked together to combine credits together

  • Only 1 instance of SP can run at the same time on 1 machine
