Actions

Actions can trigger internal functions or send commands to various devices/ protocols. They can also be used to set or retrieve values from any parameter.

General

Each action has at minimum one input pin, one output pin for successful execution, and one error output if the action fails.

A successfully triggered action uses the “Success“ output pin and is indicated by a green marker in the upper right corner.

An unsuccessful action uses the “Error“ output pin and is indicated by a red marker in the upper right corner.

Double click on the action name to define a custom name.

Select the node and check within the inspector for additional settings.

These settings can also be accessed directly within the action node.

Object/Device specific Actions

Just drag and drop the device/object into any workflow to see a list of available actions.

Folders that contain actions are always represented by this icon in the menu.

Parameter Actions

Drag any parameter onto the board to generate a parameter specific action.

Other Actions

In Grid Studio, not all available actions are directly draggable into a workflow.

For example, timeline-specific actions or enabling/disabling a map within an object, to name just a few.

To access them, please use the Action icon directly within the workflow to open the Project menu.

In addition, a secondary click on an empty space within a workflow opens this list as well.
