History
Entity values can optionally be recorded over time using the History feature.
History is configured in the Value Representation window. Once enabled, the system stores value changes in a buffer that can later be used for monitoring or analysis.
This allows users to track how a value evolves over time and visualize the data in tools such as the Monitor view.
Enabling History
To enable history for an entity value:
Open the Value Representation window.
Enable the History option.
Configure the history settings if needed.
Once enabled, the system starts recording the value changes.
History Settings
Number of Entries Defines how many values should be stored in the history buffer.
Changed Values Only If enabled, only values that actually change are stored. This helps reduce unnecessary data when monitoring values that update frequently without meaningful changes.
Typical Use Cases
History recording is commonly used for monitoring values such as:
device temperature
signal levels
sensor measurements
system performance metrics
By recording these values over time, users can visualize trends and analyze system behavior.
