Different IO connections would be sending in 3D coordinates based on an origin point that might be different to the Grid Studio system. In some instances, even the units between different IO connections could be different as well.
Grid Studio has a tool that allows quick and easy alignment between the incoming data set to the 3D coordinates of the Grid Studio world.
