Additional Control Systems

In addition to object-based processing, workflows, modifiers, and user interfaces, Grid Studio provides several systems designed to coordinate and control system behavior.

These tools help organize complex interactions, automate sequences, and manage system states during runtime.

Common control systems include:

  • Timeline – used for time-based control of events and parameters

  • Cue Lists – used to manually trigger predefined events

  • State Machines – used to control behavior based on defined system states

  • Calendar Scheduler – used to trigger events based on real-world time schedules

These systems typically interact with workflows, objects, and parameters to trigger actions or coordinate behavior across the project.

For example, a timeline event may trigger a workflow, a cue list may activate a sequence of actions, or the calendar scheduler may start automated behavior at a specific time.

Unlike the other systems, the Calendar Scheduler does not use a dedicated workspace view, as it is typically accessed through its web-based interface.
