Transfer a License to a Dongle
Grid supports transferring licenses to CodeMeter hardware dongles from Wibu Systems.
Once a license has been transferred to a hardware dongle, it becomes permanently bound to that dongle. The license key can no longer be used and cannot be transferred back from the dongle.

If you already own a CodeMeter dongle, the license can be written to that device.
Depending on whether the dongle has previously been used with a Stage Precision license, a small service fee may apply.
You can check the status of your dongle using the CodeMeter Control Center:
Open CodeMeter Control Center.
Click WebAdmin to open the web interface.
Navigate to the Container tab.
Check if a license with the number 103207 from Stage Precision GmbH is listed.
If this license entry is present, the dongle has already been initialized for use with Grid licenses.
In both cases, a license request file is required in order to transfer a license to the dongle. This file can be generated through the CodeMeter Control Center and must be provided when contacting Stage Precision sales.
Create a License Request (New Dongle)
If the CodeMeter dongle has not previously been used with a Stage Precision license, a license request file must be created.
Open CodeMeter Control Center.
Select the desired dongle container.
Click License Update.
Click Next.
Select Create license request and click Next.
Choose Add license of a new vendor and click Next.
Enter the vendor number 103207 and click Next.
This will generate a license request file that can be sent to Stage Precision to prepare the dongle for Grid licensing.
Create a License Request (Existing Stage Precision Dongle)
If the CodeMeter dongle already contains a Stage Precision license, a license request file can be generated by extending the existing license container.
Open CodeMeter Control Center.
Select the desired dongle container.
Click License Update.
Click Next.
Select Create license request and click Next.
Select Extend existing license and click Next.
Choose Stage Precision GmbH (103207) from the list and click Next.
Select the location where the license request file should be saved and click Commit to generate the request file.
Import License onto Dongle
After the request file has been processed, the Stage Precision sales team will provide a dongle license update file.
This file can be applied to the dongle in two ways.
Method 1 – Drag & Drop
Simply drag and drop the license update file onto the CodeMeter Control Center window. The update will be applied automatically to the selected dongle.
Method 2 – Using License Update
Open CodeMeter Control Center.
Select the desired dongle container.
Click License Update.
Click Next.
Select Import license update and click Next.
Choose the license update file provided by Stage Precision and click Commit to apply the license to the dongle.
