Save and Load

Save and Load

Overview

The Save and Load tab defines how Grid Studio handles project file saving and automatic backups.

These settings control the behavior of the autosave system, file compression, and which files are included when saving a project.

Adjusting these options allows users to balance between data safety, storage usage, and saving performance.

All settings apply to the local editor environment.

Enable Auto-Save

Enables the automatic saving system for project files.

When enabled, Grid Studio periodically creates backup versions of the current project while working. This helps prevent data loss in case of crashes, power failures, or unexpected shutdowns.

Auto-Save Count

Defines how many autosave versions of a project are stored.

When the number of saved autosave files exceeds this limit, the oldest autosave version will be removed automatically.

Keeping multiple autosave versions can be helpful when recovering earlier project states.

Notification for Autosave

When enabled, Grid Studio displays a notification message whenever an autosave operation occurs.

This provides visual feedback that the project has been saved automatically.

Compress File

When enabled, project files are saved using file compression.

Compression reduces the file size of project files, which can be useful when.

Compression may slightly increase the time required when saving or loading very large projects.

Save Excluded Files

Defines whether excluded project files should be saved together with the project.

When enabled, files that are normally excluded from the save process will also be included when saving the project.

This option can be useful when creating complete project backups or when transferring a project to another system.

Purpose

The Save and Load settings control how project files are automatically saved and managed. These options help protect work from data loss while providing flexibility in how project files are stored and archived.
