Overview

The Timeline tab contains preferences that affect how timelines behave inside the Grid Studio editor.

These settings control certain navigation and editing behaviors when working with timeline views.

All settings in this section affect only the editor interface and do not change how timelines behave during runtime or playback.

Frame Step

Defines the step size used when moving through frames in the timeline.

This value determines how many frames the playhead moves when stepping through the timeline using keyboard navigation.

Timeline stepping is performed using the following keys:

  • Page Up – move forward by the defined frame step

  • Page Down – move backward by the defined frame step

Adjusting this value allows users to move through the timeline in larger or smaller increments depending on the editing workflow.

For example:

  • smaller values allow precise frame-by-frame editing

  • larger values allow faster navigation across longer timelines
